A little scoop from Discogs a few weeks back for €12 including post. I have been after this a while now but wasnt prepared to give 25 notes as the only track on it I love is the Rhinestone Cowboy remix. I got a feeling that Madlib is gonna fire up again this year.

After a well deserved rest, Mr Madlib is back with his next installment in the splendid Medicine Show series. This albums sums up why we love Madlib’s music in 1st place because its that off the wall, raw, low budget hip hop sound. If your lucky enough to see the 3xLP (with the bonus cuts, hand silk-screened cover) then bag it. If not, then I am sure you will be more than contempt with the regular 2xLP or cd.

BBE have a 50% off sale on at the moment, so I took advantage by bagging this compilation of modern day classics. Spacey soul, funk & hip hop joints that have been hand picked and heavily rotated on GP’s Worldwide show.

This is without a doubt the dopest release so far in Medicine Show series. Packed with productions from 1990-2000 by from the mighty Loop Digga. Move quick if you want the limited edition 3 piece vinyl version with the hand made silk screen cover. Madlib beats from the vaults from the era when he was doing the Lootpack, Unseen LP, stuff for the Liks and so on……. that ill shit made for the walkman, need I say more??!!

The friendly people at Stones Throw have now decided to give this mix away as a free download. It was previously available on promo CD in 2003 and the Jaylib bit of the mix was on the fan club 45 for their LP. I am happy owner of the CD and I reckon you check this as its J.Rocc mixing up Dilla and Madlib beats…..

Yessir, the J.Rocc & Madlib takeover that I have been waiting for finally went to air last night on Gilles Peterson’s BBC Radio 1 show. There isn’t a whole lot to say about it except check it out sooner rather than later. Also I suggest you make an additional 2 hours free so that you can digest the J.Rocc Benji B showdown too. Photos via Stones Throw and more info over at the BBC. What a treat !!! Read the rest of this entry »

The bad kid drop a 30 minute set on Radio Nova in Paris. Madlib’s selection is always very eclectic and this is no exception with some modal/spiritual jazz delights, latin chants, a weee bit of hip-hop and the usual quirkiness one would expect from man of many aliases.
