Lynx & Malibu – Star

Lynx has been quiet in 2010, but Star is something that could have easily be mistaken for a track from Reprazent’s New Forms album. High quality, deep & funky D&B out now on Chemical Records new label, Blackout Music. Oh & finally another D&B label put some effort into their packaging (on the same tip as Exit Recordings).

Ke-ke-ke-eep it low, strings, laser beams, smoke, dust, speakers …………

Lynx kicks off his new imprint Detail Recordings in style with perhaps the best DnB release so far in 2010, Keep It Low, the ode to raving. Kemo has provided the spooky vocals, whilst Lynx and an unnamed producer have layed down the crisp/minimal tribal percussion, a heavy dose of maxed out bass sounds plus a sprinkle of eery effects. The flip see’s the label boss team up with his old mate Malibu Rhodes for a no brainer, steppy and experimental dancefloor destroyer they called Bangin Archs. An essential slice of wax if you like drums and bass …………

Lynx & Kemo - The Raw Truth LP

About 3 ½ years ago I was at The End in London, Fabio was up and he played this tune which had me running to the DJ booth to see what was written on the dub. A few months later the same producer had gained some support on Soul:ution Radio, then soon after he secured a few 12”s on labels like Creative Source & Bingo. Before we knew it Soul:R had signed him for an LP after hearing his tune Global Enemies with a local Düsseldorf MC. The last few years have gone so quickly and thankfully Lynx & Kemo’s album The Raw Truth is finally here.
